Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities reported they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then located many other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

City officials said they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

A high-ranking official commented the incident left him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
